China Mobile Group, the parent company of Hong Kong-listed China Mobile Ltd, said it has cut short message service fees for Beijing subscribers using a service package called 'Easy Own. The company said in a statement on its website that serrvice package subscribers will pay 10 yuan for 100 short messages or 15 yuan for 180 messages per month, including messages sending to China Unicom users. Customers who do not take this service package now pay 0.15 yuan to send a short message to China Mobile users and 0.20 yuan to China Unicom users. According to media reports, the new service package will save over 30 pct on short messaging fees for Beijing subscribers using the package plan.
