Dutch former monopoly KPN Telecom plans to launch a DVB-H mobile TV service from 5 June, offering ten channels - Nederland 1, Nederland 3, RTL4, RTL24, SBS6, Jetix/Veronica, MTV Music, Discovery Channel, Xite and Nick Toons - with unlimited viewing from EUR9.95 (USD15.50) per month. Telecompaper says that at launch the new service will be available on either a Samsung P960 TV or LG KB620 handset, with more compatible phones from Samsung, Nokia and LG to follow later this year. The telco’s DTT provider Digitenne constructed the new DVB-H network.
