Uruguayan mobile carrier Ancel has launched i-mate products in Uruguay. i-mate has won the deal in partnership with local mobile phone distributor and vendor Laor. Ancel plans to initially offer the i-mate Ultimate products for corporate customers across the country. The Ultimate phone series features video out functionality, enabling users to connect an Ultimate device to a digital projector, desktop screen or TV. Powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 software, the Ultimate phones feature 2.8-inch or 2.6-inch VGA and QVGA touch screens, Qwerty keyboards, 256 MB ROM, 128 MB RAM, quad-band GSM/EDGE, tri-band UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA, 2.0 and 3.0 megapixel cameras, GPS, FM radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity, and a microSD card slot. Customers who acquire an i-mate handset will also receive free access to i-mate's i-Q services suite. The Secure i-Q enables i-mate customers to lock, wipe and alarm their device if lost or stolen, while the Professional i-Q service enables business customers to manage and secure fleets of i-mate devices. The i-mate Ultimate 8150 and i-mate Ultimate 9502 are available at Ancel stores and authorized retailers throughout Uruguay.
