America Movil's subsidiary Claro has launched mobile services in Panama, Mexican news agency Notimex reports. Claro initially scheduled its mobile service for roll-out in Panama by the end of 2008, but failed to install the antennas necessary for service provision. A company source confirmed that Claro has already opened stores in the Panamanian capital, but said additional details will be disclosed in the coming days in a press conference. Claro reports its mobile coverage ranges between 40 and 95 percent of the territory across nine provinces in Panama. Panama currently has four mobile operators, namely Movistar, MasMovil, Digicel and now Claro.
