Hungary's telecommunications regulator NHH has cancelled the tender for awarding a fourth mobile network licence. The NHH received bids from four companies, namely Digi, DreamCom Tavkozlesi, Invitel Tavkozlesi and Mobinet Tavkozlesi Projekt. The authority said that since the announcement of the tender, both the global and the domestic economic contexts have deteriorated significantly, making financing conditions and investment returns uncertain. The changes in economic conditions prevented the NHH from creating a realistic picture of the value of the bidders' undertakings, their projections regarding investment, operating costs and revenue. Despite obtaining more detailed information from applicants, NHH said it failed to get a clear view of the ownership structure of some applicants.
