AT the eighth edition of the West African International Telecommunications and Information Communication Technology Exhibition (W.Afri.Tel), Visafone Communications Limited subscriber base was estimated at 350,000.This number included the subscribers inherited from Bourdex, Cellcom Ltd and ITN - telecom operators, which Visafone acquired and subsumed into its operations. However, its aggressive marketing strategy seemed to have paid off as the company, according to NCC statistics puts its subscriber base at over two million as at December 2008.From an obscure subscriber base ranking in Nigeria 's telecom sector, Visafone Communications would be participating at W.Afri.Tel 2009 as a leading CDMA operator, if the company continues with its impressive performance. According to NCC statistics, the telecom operator is currently ranked the fourth largest telecom operator according to subscriber base figures.
