Complaints from Korean tech buffs and early adopters are growing due to resentment that foreign and domestic mobile phone manufacturers either do not release their new smartphones to the Korean market, or they make a belated entry.Industry sources said yesterday that it takes between six to 12 months for local distributors like SK Telecom to distribute foreign brands - rationalizing the delay under the pretext of adopting localized marketing and studying the success rate of the product. The BlackBerry smartphone, developed by Canada's Research In Motion Ltd., is now widely used in North America and Europe, but eager Korean consumers have had to wait for about a year.
